When I first began this website, I had just one cozy mystery author whose last name began with "I". It was for that reason that I joined the "I" authors with the "J" authors. But, since then, I have added several more "I" authors, and think that it is high time that they get their own page! I was only familiar with the one author, but thanks to several site readers, I have been "introduced" to the rest.

Michael Innes (aka John Innes Mackintosh Stewart)    Innes (the name he used when writing his mysteries) taught English after graduating from Oxford. He is best known for his Inspector John Appleby books.

William Irish   aka Cornell Woolrich & George Hopley…. As Woolrich, he wrote the novel which was later made into the classic Hitchcock movie “Rear Window.”  

Elizabeth Ironside (aka Lady Catherine Manning)   Ironside has written five stand-alone mystery novels...

Susan Isaacs    Isaacs wrote the second mystery in her series twenty years after the first book in the series. Although this amount of "between-time" is unusual, she is able to pull this feat off!

Jane Isenberg    Isenberg has her undergraduate degree from Vassar, with her doctorate from NYU.

Roberta Isleib    Isleib is a clinical psychologist who writes two mystery series, one about a professional golfer and her second series is about a psychologist/advice columnist. She has been nominated for both of the prestigious Agatha and Anthony mystery awards.
