Having just finished watching the second in the Miss Marple series that is being presented on Masterpiece Mystery during July 2009, I absolutely have to write a blog… What a disappointment!

Hi Dru,

That's exactly how I feel about the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency movie/series being on HBO. We don't get that channel, so I am waiting patiently until we can buy/rent the DVDs.

(I didn't think that we got Lifetime Movie Channel, either. I was quite surprised to see it posted as LMC.)

Hi Laura,

I totally agree with you about BBC America... If you're not into reality shows that take place in the kitchen/attic or deal with cleaning people's messy houses, you're out of luck!

We loved The Last Detective but had to find the shows through other sources... certainly not BBCA! I remember when the BBCA broadcast things like Midsomer Murders, Wives and Daughters, ETC. I guess that it's cheaper for them to purchase the broadcasting rights to the kitchen/attic/house reality shows.

Of course, I also remember when The Learning Channel was just that >>> a place that broadcast shows that emphasized science and/or history themes. Certainly not shows that dealt with families that could outdo each other on the amount of children they could have.

Oh, oh... I'm off on another rant!

Thanks for the heads-up on the new PBS mysteries. I would like to mention that "Castle" will be running again on June 20 at 9:00pm on ABC. I watched that series on your recommendation and really liked it. Another recommendation is "The Last Detective" with Peter Davison. I think that series is only on DVD. Why doesn't BBC America get with it and show some of these? Love your "TV" suggestions, as well as, the book suggestions.
