Anne, when the flight attendant told our flight that they could resume use of their electronic devices, I just sat there and listened to all of the bells and whistles as everyone else started up their blackberries, raspberries, and any other "necessities" they had to turn on.

OK, Danna, you have just talked me out of the Kendle. I have always thought the feel of a real book would be so much nicer but there might be some conveniences…not anymore!!!! At Book Club last month I was the only one with pencil and paper…everyone else had their electronic whatsits and I felt very old school…but I'll stick to it!!

If it's under warranty, my understanding is they just ship you a new one and you turn yours in. But it probably depends on what goes wrong with it (and whether I dropped it off the end of a pier…)

As it is, I cut back on the travel guides already. I think if I just take two books, one for the way THERE and one for the way BACK…maybe everything will fit!!!

Always pros and cons. With everything!!!

That does sound handy… except if you are going to a country in Europe that doesn't have bookstores with English as their books' language of choice >>> and your device breaks or you lose it! What a shame to have all of the books you have bought/brought on the device, and then have to wait until you get back to the States to buy a new one. (Of course, if it's under warranty you would luck out… except for having to wait for your device to be fixed and shipped back. But, I am guessing that they would send you a loaner, right?)

No sightseeing anymore… I lived in the Springs for years and have "seen that, done that" many times already…

But, I love the Springs. My mother's house has a beautiful view of Pike's Peak, which I never, ever get tired of looking at…

{HUGS} on the restless/sleepless nights and the meds that are keeping you from your regular bedtime reading. Glad you were able to get in some reading. You weren't far from me when you were in the Springs. Did you do any sightseeing? I love that area.

I'm getting ready to go on a trip as well–and this is when I think a Kindle would REALLY come in handy. I like to have 4 or 5 books to choose from. In this case I have 3 travel guides already, and I haven't even figured out which book to take to read. I really shouldn't take more than one.

Then I visit the Kindle board and hear about people taking 300 books…
