About 5 years ago I picked up an Agatha Christie book (it was Murder on the Links) and began to read, and I have been hooked on cozy mysteries ever since. I have read almost all the AC Poirot and Miss Marple books. I did not really like Tommy and Tuppence. A few months ago I discovered Patricia Wentworth and Miss Silver, and I think I like Miss Silver even more than AC's characters. I am nearing the end of the 32 Miss Silver books. Do you have any suggestions for an author who writes books in a similar vein? I like reading about England from the 1930's through the 1950's, and I prefer that the author actually lived then also.

I'm sorry, Lana, that there are a number of non-cozy authors on the site. I happen to enjoy Minette Walters' books, so that is why I include her on the site.

Hopefully, people who want to only read cozy mysteries will indulge me, and simply ignore my "outside of cozy" authors.

You're right, Minette Walters is NOT a cozy,
so why include her? If you put everyone who
wrote good but not a cozy, you'd fill up your
list with authors we weren't seeking.
