Card Making Cozy Mysteries and Scrap Booking Cozy Mysteries…

November 11, 2007

There are just a few more crafting cozy mystery series that I want to present, two of which are the Card Making Cozy Mystery Series and the Scrap Booking Cozy Mystery Series. It seems like our "real life" crafting trends make perfect background settings for some of our favorite cozy mystery series. Imagine Miss Marple without her knitting…. Well, now that scrap booking and card making have hit the local craft stores (big time!!!), I guess that it is no wonder that we have cozy mystery series that feature those arts.

Elizabeth Bright (aka Tim Myers) writes the Card Making Mystery Series that features Jennifer Shane, owner of Custom Card Creations. As Tim Myers, the same author writes the Candle Making Series, the Lighthouse Inn Series, and the Soap Making Mystery Series.

Laura Childs writes the Scrap booking Mystery Series that revolves around Carmela Bertrand. Childs also writes the Theodosia Browning Charleston Tea Room Mystery Series.

Lucy Lawrence (aka Jenn McKinlay) writes the  Decoupage Mystery Series

Joanna Campbell Slan pens the Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-n-Craft Mystery Series

Terri Thayer has the new (in 2008, that is!) Stamping Sisters Mystery Series

oooooh!!! Candlemaking mysteries!!! I worked in one candle factory for 4 years they were purchased by another company and I was production manager for them for 5 years until the company was sold and moved out of state. And they have these at my local library, I just reserved the first one. I’ve learned about SO many new authors from this blog, thank you!

Molly,
I’m so glad that you are getting ideas for new authors. That’s exactly why I started this website…. I needed new ideas about series.

I’ve just found your website. As an “old” retired elem teacher (taught reading for 14 yrs), I saw myself as I had a quick read of your site. I immediately learned that I needed lists. I took a Franklin Covey planner and started alphabetical lists of authors I liked, then added…and added. One of my favorite authors is Laura Childs. As a former scrapper (not manic as I was for a few yrs), I love her sb series. My favorite is her tea series, but am warming up to her newer Cackleberry series.
Love this site!

Hi Dianne,

Welcome to the site! AND thank you for the kind words about it…

I have two desktop Microsoft Word lists of authors. One of them includes all of the authors I have actually tried reading. It has all of my favorite authors as well as my “YUCK*****” authors. (I find that if I don’t do that, I try reading the “YUCK*****” books again… I still don’t like them, and don’t make it past page 50, but life’s just not meant to be spent that way!)

My other Microsoft Word list of authors has all of my favorite authors with their chronological book lists, which I have to mark off right after I finish reading. (Again, if I don’t mark them down, I try reading them again >>> with that déjà vu sort of feeling going on in my mind…) I have a hard copy of this list as well. I’d be lost without all of these lists!
