Masterpiece Mystery! will start airing Season 3 of Inspector Lewis – beginning this Sunday (tomorrow) night on your local PBS station. For those of you who aren't familiar with Inspector Lewis, he used to be Inspector Morse's side-kick. The Inspector Lewis 90-minute episodes are inspired by Colin Dexter's Inspector Morse mystery books. Counter Culture Blues is a 2008 ITV production. (This is its first airing in the USA.)

Here's another reminder… Appointment with Death, is the last of the first-run Agatha Christie episodes featuring David Suchet as Hercule Poirot this summer. After tonight's showing, PBS Masterpiece Mystery! will be airing "encore" presentations of one more Poirot episode, followed by three "encore" presentations of Inspector Lewis, with Kevin Whately… who is absolutely fabulous in this role! If you missed those three episodes, I urge you to watch them (or record them) this summer. There will be one first-run Inspector Lewis episode on August 29. Terrific! I'm looking forward to it already!

Do NOT forget that the latest version of Murder on the Orient Express will be airing tonight, July 11, 2010. Yes, it's true! The (British) actor David Suchet will deliver yet another perfect portrayal of the Belgian private investigator. (What Jeremy Brett is to Sherlock Holmes, David Suchet is to Hercule Poirot!)

It won't be Murder on the Orient Express, but it will be David Suchet on the Orient Express.

Tonight, on your local PBS station (unless they are doing a special funding drive) David Suchet will be taking us on a tour of the Orient Express. And, of course, all of you know that David Suchet is the man behind the man with the little gray cells: the famous Belgian detective, Hercule Poirot.

OK, everyone! This is it! This is the last new Miss Marple Masterpiece Mystery! episode that PBS will be airing during their summer Mystery! bonanza, and it's on tonight!

The Blue Geranium is indeed a Miss Marple mystery… which is great to know! Actually, The Blue Geranium is an Agatha Christie short story … which is still great to know! (If you read my previous entry about The Secret of Chimneys, and the fact that it was an Superintendent Battles mystery novel, then you know what I mean!) I think it's always clever when they air mystery episodes which feature true depictions of the works by the highlighted authors, and not changes the producers think the public should see!

As the title of this Cozy Mystery site entry says: Miss Marple Series V is back – with a NEW 90 minute episode: The Secret of Chimneys. And, if you are ANYTHING like me, you are probably ready for your "dose" of Agatha Christie via the good folks of British television and PBS. (Thank goodness PBS still airs our favorite British mysteries… now that other channels like A & E no longer do so!)

Here's another British mystery "dramedy" (drama & light comedy) series that might have been "undiscovered" by many people outside of the United Kingdom. Pie in the Sky stars Richard Griffiths as Henry Crabbe, the main character of the series.

Good news, Cozy Mystery lovers! A site reader (Thank you, Alfred!) just told me about some upcoming shows on PBS… So>>> mark your calendars!

PBS is calling this the "Six by Agatha" event. It all kicks off with two new Hercule Poirot episodes (Hercule Poirot Series X) at the end of June. Of course, we wouldn't want them with any other actor than David Suchet… And, lucky for us, he will be starring in them. Both of these Agatha Christie episodes are ninety minutes long:
