This is a continuation of my entry from yesterday:
Don't get me wrong! It's not like I intentionally don't answer a site readers request for help. If someone writes and asks me about… let's say… Camille Minichino's Gloria Lamerino, Susan Wittig Albert's China Bayles, or Katherine Hall Page's Faith Fairchild, I will definitely write back (almost!) immediately. But, as I saw from my post on February 16, it took less than three hours for Barbara to come up with the mystery book author's mystery identity.

Boy! Am I getting lazy!?! It used to be that when someone asked me for the identity of an author, I tried to come up with the answer for them. If I didn't know the author, I would do Google searches until I came up with the correct information. In some cases, I would spend quite a bit of time trying to identify the author, and if I absolutely could not… then I would post an entry asking for your help.

I just received this request from Sandra and thought that it would make a perfect blog. If any of you out there have any ideas, please send a comment.
"I read some books in a series a few years ago that took place in Florida. The characters were friends (male and female, some worked in a real estate office, and would meet each day for lunch and happy hour at a bar/restaurant real close to the realtor office. They were such regulars there that they had there own table and chairs. I enjoyed this series so much but evidently read what I could get at that time and if I wrote the author and titles down for future reference, I have lost it. That is all I can really remember other than they were cozy mysteries and I definitely enjoyed them. Any ideas who the author was or character/titles? It may have been on one of the islands close to Florida but I keep thinking Florida."

I just recently received a letter from a site reader asking these questions:
(1.) What about murder by diary/journal? How many can we come up with where the dastardly deed is revealed during the course of a series of diary entries? The original great must be Les Liaisons Dangeureuses – though the deaths come at the end – but are there any contemporary ones?

OK… Here's another stumper. I just received a letter from a site reader (Sharon) who asks that we come up with this author. Again, I am at a loss! I told my husband that I was hesitant to post these "looking-for-an-author" letters because it shows a lack of knowledge on my part. But he assured me that since I am posting authors who site readers have recommended, authors who I have not yet read, then the site readers would not expect me to know every author who has written a cozy (or a book that someone else thinks is cozy.)

I have another mystery about a mystery author's identity:
"Help! I'm trying to find a series which I have read two books of, and really enjoyed, but can't remember the author's name or the titles! It takes place in a Texas college town. The main characters are a middle
aged man and a younger woman (who is a forensic anthropologist). They are bird watchers and the man is secretly in love with the woman.
Ring a bell for anyone?
Thanks!"

I received both an email and a blog comment a few days ago from Carolyn asking about Clarissa Watson. The gist of the letters is as follows:
"I haven't noticed any mention of an excellent mystery author, CLARISSA WATSON. She wrote a series of books featuring painter and art expert Persis Willum. The books are intelligent and fun, so much so that I re-read them about every 5 years! Please give them a try if you like international intrigue and a heroine who loves art. I only wish she had written more of them." AND "Do you have any suggestions on finding another author like Clarissa Watson? She wrote a series of sophisticated, witty mysteries featuring portrait painter and art expert Persis Willum in the 80's. They are great books…"
