We had "Thanksmas" at our house. (our name for the combined Christmas and Thanksgiving due to children who live far away unable to come home for Christmas.) It was a very Merry Thanksmas as I had a week off work and was able to enjoy the preparations (I love to make my own gravy!) Soooooo- I'll be able to really sit back and relax, and just maybe read LOTS of books for the Christmas season!!

I finally got your blog loaded into my google reader, which makes life wonderful. I wanted to say I stumbled on your Web and Blog via comments about "cozy" mysteries served up at LibraryThing.com. Thanks to those folks, and your wonderful site, you've opened up scads of new reading for me. As a "boring old non-fiction" reader for years, the closest I came to a mystery was Sherlock Holmes or anything by Dame Agatha. No more! So thank you BIG TIME for all your hard work and delicious suggestions!

We are a team in our household, thank goodness. DH grills the turkey, makes the green bean casserole and stuffing. I make the potatoes and rolls. Gravy comes out of a jar….
