Kim Harrison needs to be added to the witch series, she’s a witch who lives in a church with a vampire and pixies. The books are a hoot!

  2. Judith says

Heather Webber has a new book coming out in January that she is writing as Heather Blake – It Takes a Witch, the first in her Wishcraft Mystery series

    • Danna - cozy mystery list says

Thanks, Judith, for the heads-up. I have gone ahead and made a note of her Heather Webbers “new name” and her new Wishcraft Mystery Series.

      Thanks, again!

  3. Cindy says

Does anyone know when the next Shirley Damsgaard book is due out? I am having withdrawal symptoms. I love her and Madelyn Alt.
    Thanks! Cindy

  4. Cindy says

    Hi Danna.
I just noticed your request for more books with Witch themes. I remembered about Hannah Svendson. Not sure of spelling, I’ll write it correctly after I can check it. The author is located in the ‘S’ section of Fiction and Literature at Borders. It is sort of a “cozy-fiction”. Thru a mixture of Business 101, witches, warlocks, gargoyles and what not, you get a really Fun read!
The main character-human female-it seems is immune to the spells cast on them by non-mortals. Non-mortals can then walk about freely without being discovered for what they really are.
But our heroine sees gargoyles, fairies, and all other such things everywhere she goes. She is then contacted by one of these strange-must be going to a party characters. That’s when the fun begins! And about the business part…OH BOY!…what fun with lots and lots and lots of action and adventure!

    • Carol says

This is in reply to Hannah Svendson witch series. The author actual is Shanna Swendson. As far as I know she wrote 4 books in this series featuring Katie Chandler. Katie has no magical abilities but is able to see all things magical. The series was a very fun read and I was sorry when I finished the last book.

  5. Julie says

Kimberly Frost has three from her Southern Witch series and they are REALLY good. Would love to see you add her to this list.

Thanks for such a great website! ; )

  6. Camille says

The Stacy Justice series by Barbra Annino is the best. You will fall in love with her and her Grandmother and 2 great-aunts and the entire crazy family! Powerful witches who are charming, hysterically funny with a bit of mystery, murder and mayhem tied in.

    • Danna - cozy mystery list says

Thank you, Camille, for telling us about Barbra Annino’s Stacy Justice (paranormal) Mystery Series.

  7. Tawnya says

Dolores Stewart Riccio is an author not to be missed for us lovers of all things witchy! She has seven (or 8?) books in her “The Divine Circle of…” Cass Shipton, owner of an herbal business and a group of friends in a library study group discover that magic actually works and so become a circle. Then they discover that each has a unique “quality” which is totally useful when it comes to solving the various murders that seem to follow them around. Thanks for the other suggestions and be sure to check these out!

  8. Stef says

I have enjoyed most of the authors that are listed here, Alt, Annino, Balckwell, Blake, Cates, Damsgaard, Geary,Frost, & Dolores Stewart Riccio, who started me off with the witchy genre, her #9 was just released. Other authors I enjoy are Tonya Kappes, Mindy Klasky, H.P. Mallory, Rose Pressey. I have these is paperback, but have repurchased these on Nook & recently bought a Kindle paperwhite to keep up with the ones who are no longer with Barnes & Noble. I hope you enjoy any you may chose to try.

Lori H, I’m glad you posted this comment on the Witch Theme Mystery Series page. I just glanced at the page and see I hadn’t yet added Heather Blake (aka Heather Webber): Wishcraft Mystery Series to the list!

  9. Garity L says

I think Barbra Annino belongs on this list! Her books are e-books and I read all of her Stacy Justice series (4 books so far) one right after the next. Enjoyed them!

    • Danna - cozy mystery list says

Thanks, Garity L, I just added Barbra Annino’s Stacy Justice Mystery Series to the Paranormal: Witch mystery books theme.

  10. Gayle says

I just finished J.D. Shaw’s first book, called “Easy Bake Coven”. He is working on a second book. Has anyone else read his first book?

    • Danna - cozy mystery list says

Lisa, thank you for the suggestion. I wasn’t quite sure where I should put Ellery Adams’ Charmed Pie Shoppe Mystery Series. I wasn’t sure if they would qualify as a “Paranormal – Witch” theme. It became a question for me: Is Ella Mae actually a witch, or are her pies charmed without help from her as a witch? (That probably doesn’t make sense, but I hope it does.)

At one point I thought I should maybe add a new paranormal theme… a “Magical Powers” type of theme. But then that led me to the question: Can someone have “magical powers” without being a type of “witch”?

  11. Pata says

Maybe not witch enough but the the first book by Dawn Eastman
A family fortune mystery Is Pall in the Family – Kari Lee Townsend liked it and of course Bailey Cates with the Magical Bakery series
Newest Charms and Chocolate Chips. Sorry if everyone knows about these or they don’t belong but I really enjoyed them – the latter is a light witch. Have a magical day…

    • Danna - cozy mystery list says

Pata and Lisa, I am going to put up a new paranormal theme that will catch all of the NON Witch, Ghost, Psychic, and Vampire theme mysteries. It will be a Charmed, Enchanted, & Magical theme.

  12. LuAnn says

Just found this site. I love all witch mysteries and was unsure what was out there (knew of Madelyn Alt). Now I know where to look so I can keep on reading. Thank you.

    • Danna - cozy mystery list says

Judy, none of us here have heard anything new. We are still waiting to see when her In Charm’s Way will be published…
